OUR VALUES
Core values we all share
The Foundation’s giving is guided by core values of our founders Rebecca and Arthur Samberg (z”l), shared by their grown children and spouses.
An imperative to make the world a better place.
Jewish tradition teaches that we have a duty to repair the world. We embrace this responsibility with humility.
Belief in the power of education to improve life prospects.
All children should have access to high quality learning and enrichment opportunities, in and out of school.
Commitment to healthy living for children and families.
Poverty has a harmful effect on health. When underlying, poverty-related factors are acknowledged and uniquely addressed within health care settings, better health ensues.
Connection to our home community of New York.
Our family’s roots are in New York. While we have supported initiatives national in scope, we have a special interest in and dedication to children and families in the New York metro area.
Deep respect for the Jewish past and future.
We wish to keep Jewish history, culture and values alive and relevant. We know that powerful transformations occur when young people connect to their Jewish heritage and become part of a larger Jewish community through meaningful experiences.
