Turnaround for Children translates neuroscientific research into tools and strategies for schools with high concentrations of students impacted by adversity. Turnaround works with schools in NYC, Newark and Washington DC to accelerate students’ development and academic recovery by creating a student support system, training teachers and working with school leaders. Research shows that suspensions and serious behavioral incidents declined by more than 40% over a three-year period in Turnaround schools. SFF provided seed funding for the Washington DC expansion.
