Literacy, Inc’s (LINC) mission is to engage families and community members to support young readers in high need neighborhoods by mobilizing resources that already exist in the community. LINC hires Community Coordinators who live in the neighborhoods in which they work, with the charge of making sure that children have many positive one-on-one reading experiences, that books are always available in the community, and that reading is fun. Research indicates that child reading time and parent engagement increase as a result of participation in LINC.
